Super Affiliates
Today, affiliate revenue is mainly generated by Publishers promoting a retailer's products and services to their visitors, who then act or share these promotions. ShoutCrowd and market analysts see a shift in this market whereby consumers would act as "Super Affiliates" and begin to generate affiliate revenue and commissions through peer-to-peer marketing. Up until now, online retailers have no way of tracking or rewarding an individual's promotional efforts online.
The ShoutCrowd service serves as a customer loyalty program in which customers earn points when they promote a coupon, sales, or product of the retailer to their friends/social networks. "Points" are earned by a retailers' customer activity based on the following metrics:
- Clicks when promoting a coupon, sale or product
- Sale dollars generated when products are purchased by their social reach.
For example, if a Super Affiliate were to promote a coupon or product to 1,000 of their friends through their social network, this asset would reach over 10,000 people. Sales garnered from these 10,000 people would be credited to the Super Affiliate.
Implementing Super Affiliate programs is very simple for online retailers. Retailers use ShoutCrowd widgets on their website to sign people up for the program and services as interface for members see their rewards and ongoing promotions to share with their friends. ShoutCrowd's affiliate technology is then implemented within the online retail store checkout process, which tracks sale activity back to Super Affiliates responsible for the customer. Sales results and rewards are made available to Super Affiliates in real-time.
